Reopening of KGMA during Phase 2 of COVID-19

Dear Students and Parents of KGMA,

We hope that all of you have been well during the Circuit Breaker period.
Great news, we are pleased to inform you that KGMA will be reopening on 19 June 2020(Friday)!

As our students return for music lessons, we are on the lookout for everyone’s safety.

Practices that we will be putting in place:

  • Temperature taking of every person entering KGMA.

  • QR Code for Contact Tracing

  • Social Distancing to be observed at all times. Teacher and student are to be seated 1m apart during lessons.

  • Hand sanitizer and anti-bacterial wet wipes will be provided at KGMA

  • All students and parents WILL be required to wear face masks at ALL TIMES

We take these matters seriously as it concerns the well-being of our students and staff.

All music lessons will resume and students can return for lessons at our physical location.
Students who have paused their music lessons can resume their weekly lessons at KGMA, students who have opted for Online Music Lessons can choose to remain Online or make the switch back to having lessons at KGMA again. We will be contacting all students individually to explain to make lesson arrangements.

Our operation hours will be back to normal as well:

Monday to Friday
11:30am - 8:30pm

Saturday and Sunday
11:30am - 4pm

Lastly, thank you for your support and understanding as we make the necessary preparations to make KGMA a safer school to come back to. Stay safe and we look forward to seeing you soon!

Best regards,
KGMA Family

Music Lessons, now held Online

It has been 2 months into Circuit Breaker period and we hope everyone is doing okay. During this very difficult time, many music schools have put a pause to conducting Music Lessons at their premises. KGMA has also suspended it’s Music Lessons at King George’s Building.

To ensure that Music Education continues, we have brought all our Music Lessons Online. We took the following steps to ensure a smooth transition from In Person Lessons to Online Lessons:

  • Ensuring our Music Teachers have the Audio Equipment to set up their live stream from home.

  • Changed our attendance system to be Online-based

  • Quality checks on all our Teachers’ stream to ensure good audio and video quality

  • Provided Music Scores for lessons

We believe that Music Lessons can be just as fun, enriching and engaging when held Online. We hope that our students can consider having Online Music Lessons during this period to substitute the usual Music Lessons held at KGMA. All students are welcome to join our Online Music Lessons!

Secondly, we would like to announce that we have decided to continue our Online Music Lessons even after Circuit Breaker ends. Some of our students have voiced out that they prefer having lessons at home and online. However, be rest assured we will resume Music Lessons at KGMA’s physical location after our school is allowed to open again. This will benefit students without instruments and also students who prefer in-person Music Lessons in general.

Presently. we are still unsure of the exact date where we can operate again. We will keep in touch with all our students and keep everyone informed once we are able to open again.

Stay safe during this period and we hope to see you soon!

All the Best,
KGMA Family

KGMA Plans during 27 March - 30 April

Dear KGMA students and parents,

As quoted from MOH’s website (https://www.moh.gov.sg/news-highlights/details/tighter-measures-to-minimise-further-spread-of-covid-19):

“All centre-based tuition and enrichment classes will be suspended. This is to reduce the intermingling of students from different schools and enhance the safety of our students.”

We have contacted MOH and other music schools to verify if it affects us. We regrettably announce that we have to suspend all music lessons at KGMA for the utmost safety and well-being of our students. This will be in effect from 27 March 2020 to 30 April 2020.

As part of our contingency plan, we will be conducting E-Learning which we have planned for 2 months beforehand– since February. Hence, we believe that we will be more well prepared. All lessons will be conducted online and you can attend them in the comfort of your own home. This will be the best option to take in the long run in case the Covid-19 situation worsens.

The e-learning lessons will be in the form of online video call and we will be using Discord as the streaming platform. All you need would be a phone/tablet or laptop with a built-in front camera, as well as a microphone. The app will have to be installed on your device and you will need to make an account as well. Instructions on how to set-up the online lesson can be found here: Click Here!

As an alternative option, you can also have our teacher come down to your house for lessons. However, there will be an extra $20 charge incurred for transport fees per lesson.

At KGMA, we will do our best to deliver music lessons through any means possible during this period. In the meantime, we will be on the lookout for more updates from MOH should any changes be made. Should you have any queries, feel free to contact us at 9735 8075. Thank you for your understanding.

We hope for all of you to stay safe and protected during this time and be stay healthy!

From,
King George’s Music Academy

Covid-19 Update

Dear KGMA students and parents, In view of the announcement of tuition centres and other mentioned places to be closed down by MOH, the situation is still very unclear as of right now. We are unsure if we would have to close down KGMA.

One thing we know for sure is that we are very fortunate that KGMA has not come in close contact with Covid-19 at all. By tomorrow, we will call MOH to verify on the decisions we would have to take.

Should the situation of the virus worsen, we have prepared equipment ready to conduct E-Learning at the comfort of your own home. At KGMA, we value the quality of education and the delivery of lessons more than anything else.

We will continue to keep you updated on the status of school closure once we have found out more information. Thank you for your support all along and we believe we will meet again very soon. In the meantime, stay safe and protected!
