Digital Piano for HDB
Practice in Singapore

A 61-key toy keyboard will teach you to slap plastic. We teach piano on 88 weighted keys — including the headphone routine that keeps an HDB corridor civil.

Select Viewing Mode

1. 88 keys, not 61

  • Range: A0 to C8, so next year's piece still fits.
  • A 61-key board cuts the bass you need for hymns and pop.
  • ABRSM and Trinity pages assume a full deck. So do we.

2. Hammer action or nothing

  • Weight: you accelerate a hammer, not a spring.
  • Graded action: heavier bass, lighter treble.
  • If piano and forte feel identical, the board is lying.

3. Headphones save the block

  • Closed-back cans, not MRT earbuds.
  • Quiet-hour norms: treat 10pm to 8am as no speakers.
  • One honest jack beats a leaky 'quiet' speaker session.

4. Studio acoustic, home digital

  • First six months: 88 weighted keys at home is enough.
  • Grade 3 and up: get acoustic time, here if not at home.
  • Photograph the home board. We will say if it is a piano.
